NST Test (Non-Stress Test), also known as Cardiotocography (CTG), is a safe and non-invasive fetal monitoring procedure used during pregnancy to evaluate the baby’s heart rate, movement, and overall well-being. This test helps assess how the baby’s heart responds to natural movements inside the womb and plays an important role in monitoring fetal health, especially during the later stages of pregnancy or in high-risk cases. The NST Test is commonly recommended in high-risk pregnancies, decreased fetal movements, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, overdue pregnancy, twin pregnancy, or any condition requiring close fetal observation. During the procedure, sensors are placed on the mother’s abdomen to record the baby’s heartbeat and uterine activity. The test is painless, comfortable, and usually completed within 20–40 minutes.
